The purpose of an organization is the fundamental reason why the organization exists - to achieve their mission and goals. Provide the direction when organizations face a critical decision. Prioritize how resources will be allocated in an organization. Can actually be taken seriously and internalized by employees: missio(cid:374)s (cid:373)atter (cid:449)he(cid:374) they fit (cid:449)ith actual goals pursued / operative goals. Must fit with structures, rules, and incentives. What are operative goals: what an organization and its divisions set out to do to attain their official goals.
