Now that you have had an overview of ethical theory and a detailed exploration of the major normative theories, i"d like to turn to some key. The context for our course is the evolving field of medicine, broadly construed. We"ll be exploring specific issues in order to see how these areas of human behavior give rise to ethical situations and require careful ethical discussion. A responsible thinker is someone who is neither dogmatic in principles nor fully uncommitted to any principles whatsoever. Rather they are responsibly committed to affirming the most reasonable approach. So far while remaining open to the need for further revision. In this podcast, i"ll be presenting a first look at how ethical content has emerged in biomedical ethics and some of the influential principles that have been developed by bioethicists. Biomedical ethics so important is the urgent context of medical decision-making.
