Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, fear, worried thoughts and physical changes. Anxiety is a normal response to perceived danger, either physical or psychological. A period of intense fear or physical discomfort, developing abruptly and peaking within 10 minutes. Fear of being in situations where escape might be difficult/embarrassing or in which help might not be available in the event of having unexpected panic-like symptoms (fear of fear) Excessive anxiety about a number of events or activities, occurring more days than not. Person fears that in social or performance situations they will be scrutinized, judged negatively, and act in embarrassing ways. Recurrent/persistent fearful thoughts where there is an attempt to control through thoughts/actions. Exposure to trauma where physical integrity is threatened and there is intense fear/helplessness. Persistent fear that is excessive or unreasonable, cued by the presence or anticipation of a specific object or situation these technically make.
