Document Summary
Jura mountains: the jura mountains are located in the countries of france, switzerland and germany and the continent of europe. These mountains are considered sub-alpine, and act as an area that separates the water flowing to the rhine and rh ne rivers. They are fundamentally made up of limestone and were the first place to have various fossils and dinosaur tracks studied. Carpathians: located in europe, the carpathians are a long chain of mountain shaped in a crescent-shaped arc of around 1 450 km that runs along several countries such as: Romania, hungary, ukraine, poland, czech republic, slovakia, and slightly through. One aspect that makes the carpathians interesting is that they have several different areas of nappe (large sheets of rock that have been moved around 2 km or more from its original position by faulting or folding). The mountain chain is mainly composed of flysch and is considered to be geologically young.
