Hydrothermal vents hot springs on ocean floor, the heat underneath the earths crust rises and eventually settles on the sea floor. Volcanoes -> plates pull apart and give way to magma activity. Most of the (cid:449)orld"s (cid:448)ol(cid:272)a(cid:374)oes are o(cid:374) the (cid:271)otto(cid:373) of the o(cid:272)ea(cid:374) Black clouds from vents result from magma activity. On sides of vents, much cooler water, 30-40 degrees is being released, much of the life on vents are growing here. Hydrothermal vents can live completely independently of sun and sunlight. The(cid:455)"re li(cid:448)i(cid:374)g off the (cid:374)utrie(cid:374)ts (cid:272)o(cid:373)i(cid:374)g fro(cid:373) the i(cid:374)side of the earth. Tubeworms have a symbiotic relationship with chemoautotrophic bacteria living in their guts. All the bacteria provide the carbon necessary to live and the tubeworms provide the environment necessary to live.
