Goes to a town and gives the millians 2 choices. 1 - be part of us, pay a tax and live. 2 - kill all military men, enslave women and children. Athenian general - nothing to do with right or wrong, about promoting athenian interest. Millians - this isn"t right - want to go down fighting. Golden rule - those who have the gold makes the rules. Leaders - do what"s best for their state. We may not accept hobbes, but from a realist perspective rose tinted glasses lead to errors - that what it is. Naieve idea that you only get what you deserve. Cannot rely on the state to instil justice. If allies lost the war they would be tried as war criminals. If you win you get to decide if the ends justify the means. No interest in taking others stuff, but want to be safe.
