Produces stronger responses than continuous reinforcement: rate of response, effect on motivation (has to do with memory and expectation, result: the behavior is done often, maintained, resistance to extinction. Example: gambling you don"t get the money every time but you continue the behavior. Example: emails an important email that we don"t know when is going to come = checking often lecture 5.
