Reproductive success: the reproductive success can be defined in an extended way but as to what doesn"t just survive but what reproduces as well. Once believed that larger animals adapt faster, this is untrue as small animals (insects) are adapting much faster than any other animal right now. Competition (intra specific) for resources is necessary for survival and reproduction if resources are scarce. Cooperation (intra-specific) and altruistic behaviours can also take place, mainly among mated pairs or genetically related individuals. Selfish behaviour cost to recipient, benefit to actor.
