Document Summary
Experimental set up to study bold and shy fish . Minotrap system: only traps bold fish as they would take the risk to get into that contraption. This affects the data dramatically, biased towards the risk taking fish. Not the normal fish but rather at the one end of the normal distribution. Sample them all together and then do a medium split. You have fast to slow distribution scored on activity measure, then find the median. More independent than other reptiles in water environments. Massively influenced by quick changes in temperature. Advantage is if you give them time, they can adapt to extreme temperatures. In the spring they literally thaw and come alive again. Sometimes if you look under the water, the lower layers may be a little active. Red backed striped: immobility when threat from predators. Lead back non striped: runs away from threat, high stress levels overall in that morph.
