Much like there are sub elds, law and politics being an example, of anthropology but there are also sub elds of legal and political anthropology. Both of these types of anthropology deal with the cross-cultural differences. There is minimal leadership and exible membership (membership is very informal) Generally makes decisions as a collective or look to elders in times of con ict. Most of our history includes humans being part of bands. Just recently bands have become more active in politics due to colonialism. Lead groups from 100 to multiple thousand people (still considered small) Tends to be more formal than a band, but still quite informal. The headman/woman is only in the head role part time (when there is a dispute needing to be settled), otherwise this person is just a regular member. Settle disputes by appealing to the morals of people rather than using force or backup (police)
