Board of governors - expect corporate logics to work in university setting. Schools function to train workers with the skill sets and comportment needed by employers. Middle class students given autonomy over work - make their own decisions, question situations. Working class students expected to follow and not question, obey orders. Working class parents are usually okay with this, because they recognize the importance of following orders in their jobs. Acquired through education, through travel importance of following orders in their jobs. Cultural capital: general cultural background, knowledge, disposition, and skills. Cultural capital can be exchanges for economic capital or social capital. Social capital: resources based on group membership, relationships, networks, and influence. Education rewards the right type of cultural capital - linguistic competence is rewarded.
