Need to be forced by both individuals and government. Middle - sympathetic but not yet active individuals. Issues with saying everyone is responsible for action. Some countries have contributed more - inequities are not recognized by this statement. Without behaviour change we cannot combat climate change. Human behaviour is the root of climate change. We have started creating more and more consumption in last decade. Things like compost and mass transportation can be impactful but people need to use them. 40% of energy consumption is from individuals and households. Can reduce energy by 7 - 10% by changing consumption. 2 systems of thinking that drive our behaviour. Have started the new behaviour within last 6 months. Sustained the change for 6 months or more. Five types of behaviours that are highly habitual and also have a high environmental impact on the environment. Not within one persons immediate self interest to invest energy and resources in helping to tackle.
