My one patient had it on his right heel and my other patient on the tip of the penis due to the tugging of his Foley catheter. Pressure sores are injuries to the skin and underlying tissues that result from prolonged pressure on the skin. Those who are at risk for pressure sores are those with a medical condition that limits their ability to change positions (such as spinal cord injured patients), require them to use a wheelchair or confine them to a bed for prolonged periods.
