Group TO Bands TO Troops  Most individuals will just stay in their groups  Larger groups call bands and they form groups called troops  The more of you there are, the more protection you have against predation More Reproductive Strategies • Parental investment (on the part of males) o How much time and effort put into taking care of the offspring o Protect them from predators o Ex/ Chimps, bonobos • Dominance o Competition between male is low in small sized primates o Compete and stay in group is huge part in their behavior Grooming  General pattern – submissive grooms the dominant primate o To calm down the individuals o Primates watching grooming will turn calm too Female Philopatric and Male Philopatric Societies  Female philopatric –
