Document Summary

Qafzeh, israel and its earliest homo sapien fossils. Found five buried individuals which appears to be the oldest evidence of intentional burials: Adult female with child at her feet. Boy with antlers placed over his hands. No doubt amh have chins, vertical foreheads, no real brow ridge. Found shell beads and red ochre that suggests they were used personally. The cranium skulls is clearly modern, with the brain case. The hand bones from qafzeh are preserved well and they are clearly more modern and less robust than neanderthal hands. Caves tabun and kebara had neanderthal fossils. Skhul had at least 10 individuals, some intentionally buried. Can see some variation among the remains: Used mousterian industry (european neanderthal"s stone tool industry) Found perforated shell beads, perhaps used for personal ornamentations. Skhul 5 cranium is more modern than neanderthals, with a modern chin.
