Heidelbergensis is clearly the direct ancestor of Neandertals Earlies Fossils  Sima de los Huesos, Spain o 400,000 ya o Not quite Neandertal, but VERY close; likely an immediate ancestor Pontnewydd, Wales? o Dated to 230,000 ya Taurodontism o Enlar
