Cartels formation of big business cartels come out of this, reducing the level of competition, leads to rise in prices which contributes to inflation. Labour unions formed, had lots of power. Context of the russian revolution bolsheviks revolting and striking around this time. Successor states coming out: poland, austria-hungary, turkey, yugoslavia all democratic.
