History - Europe in 1750 ( The Old Regime)
The Old Regime
-During this period Europe is moving away from kings and queens
-Only god can command the king ( fundamental rule of leadership)
This is challenge by event such as french revolution

-Russia does not have a parliament and constitution until the 19th century
-significant changes during this period because of the underlying economic changes

The cultural capital of Europe

The greatest western power of the 18th century
The legacy of Louis the 14th (1643- 1715)
centralized power of France, gave him overriding power = Royal
Absolutism
Increase power at the expense of other power in France provinces and
other acrostics ( no more regional autonomy )
Highly centralization - the beginning of the modern state
Economic advantages - balanced economy, agricultural sector ,
manufacturing sector and export and import sector
the largest population during 18th century = largest army
used army to expand power around the world
