Germany has long hostory of military success going back. 1938 > anshluss union w/ austria + germany. 1937 holds meeting stating he will invade soviet union, but states that they need to dominate czechoslovakia. Sudetenland a group of ethnic germans living in czechoslovakia, main separation between the rest of political vehicle is supported by nazis, causes. Hitler uses this as propaganda, claiming german ppl are being oppressed, and says sudetenland population needs to join. Soviet union willing to go to war to defend czechoslovakia, but not alone, S. u. , agree to give sudetenland population to hitler. Britain, italy and germany meet to negotiate w/o. Britain/france actively prefer to give hitler what he wants appeasement.
