Voyeurism AND Fetishism Voyeurism  Voyeurism: a person who becomes sexually aroused from secretly viewing a women, who is a stranger, undress  Scoptophilina – sexual pleasure is derived from observing sexual acts and the genitals Exhibitionism or “Flashing”  Exposing genitals to others in inappropriate situations  Illegal – Canadian Criminal Code calls it indecent exposure  In one Ottawa study, 6% of offenders went on the commit a hands-on assault o Social learning theory proposed – parents may have modeled such a behavior o May have been reinforced by “getting attention” as adult Hypersexuality  Hypersexuality – refers to an excessive, insatiable sex drive in either a man or a women; leads to compulsive sexual behavior  Often called ‘nyphomania’ in women and ‘satyriasis’ in men Asphyxiophilia  The desire to induce in oneself a state of oxygen deficiency in order to create se
