Many different types of hpv some low risk cause genital warts, other are high risk and cause genital cancers. Estimate that between 20-33% of women have hpv. Hpv is in almost all cases of cervical cancer, but cervical cancer cases do not always have hpv. Sufficient but not necessary in causing cervical cancer. Hpv 16 and 18 account for 70% of cases of cervical cancer. Sufficient 70% may have been slowly forming. 30% is not showing any evidence of hpv. Transmission: not exchange of fluid, but skin contact that is important in transmission, oral, anal, dry-humping, vaginal, manual stimulation all risk behaviors. Diagnoses: inspecting warts (if present, abnormal cells on a pap test, dna test for men because they are not routinely tested for hpv. Most cases are asymptomatic (but virus can still be transmitted) Many strains are fought by the natural immune system. Warts: liquid nitrogen or acid chemical put directly on the wart.
