Determination of Maximum Oxygen Uptake 1. There are several equipments used to determine the subject's VO2 max. The bicycle ergometer. Heart rate monitor, stopwatch, low resistance respiratory valve plus mouthpiece, nose clip, meteorological balloon, electronic CO2 and O2 analyzer and 2 way valve. 2. The purpose to get the barometric pressure and gas temperature so we can correct using the formula in the book after because different location will have an effect to the results. 3.
