Evaluation of Physical Fitness
Cardio-respiratory endurance-running, strength-lifting a weight, muscular endurance-sit ups,
flexibility-putting a joint in a normal motion, body composition.
To assess the status of the individuals entering the program. To prescribe or limit activities of
certain individuals. To evaluate an individual's progress. To increase the person motivation for
entering the program. To evaluate the success of a program.
It gives the risk and explain the purpose of the test. If the person couldn't no perform the
activity they can reject.
-Validity it should measure what it should of measure. For example test for cardio power=
running can't be tested by push ups or sit ups.
-Reliability are consistent and reproducible. For example doing the skin fold 3 times. However,
there will always be errors. What if there is a random error? repeat the measurements several times and take the mean. Why are there errors? technical error and biological variation.
