Acknowledges that deviance and risk-taking activities can be
"fun" or thrilling – that many individuals would engage in such
activities if not sufficiently controlled/restrained.

effectiveness/ineffectiveness of informal/formal social controls,
power control theory attempts to address issue of why males are
more likely to be delinquent (i.e., less controlled/restrained) than
