Children are sensitive to this, but adults are less sensitive. Having a job, voting, sex, becoming a parent, etc: things you learn in your adulthood. Re-socialization: resocialization occurs when a new situation requires a person to replace established patterns of behaviour and thought with new patterns, repeat, repeat, repeat. Immigration, sports, disabilities, psycho-therapy, going to prison, going to the military. The time gap, is 6 9 months for tuberculosis (unsocializable) Resocialization can also sometimes be difficult, because the first patterns keep getting in the way.
