Ribonucleotides are another subunit of nucleic acids that compose 15-20% dry weight of the cell and have many functions, most of which are involved in the production of polypeptides. Lipids are formed many different structures as the subunits and make up about 10% dry weight of the cell. Their structural function is to make up cellular membranes that form physical boundary between the inside of cell and surroundings and membranes of internal organelles.
