Document Summary
Field study results of water temperature, dissolved oxygen level or % coverage of. Macrophytes and how they may influence the diversity or abundance of macro- The relationship between macro-invertebrates and dissolved oxygen, water temperature and % macrophyte coverage was studied to determine if abiotic factors have an influence over macro-invertebrate diversity and abundance. These factors can affect the nutrient levels, oxygen levels or the overall environment of water bodies that can further affect macro-invertebrates. For the present study we tested two different sites and 10 sample sites from hawrelak park and hermitage park using various instruments like dip nets, the hanna instruments hi 9142 portable. Waterproof dissolve oxygen meter and the hanna instrument hi 991300 portable ph/ec/tds/temperature meter. The relationship between water temperature and macro-invertebrate abundance showed a positive significance where as the relationship between dissolved oxygen and macro-invertebrates abundance and the relationship between % macrophyte coverage and macro-invertebrate diversity both showed a negative significance.
