Successful group work: group work allows people to rely on others strengths where they themselves are deficient. Group presentation: purpose is to develop communication and public speaking skills. Applying communication theory in a real life situation. What makes effective group members: experienced. Life experience, previous team work: ability to problem solve, openness. Open to working together, putting time into the project, and embracing project goals: supportive of other group members. Validate and explore ideas from all group members: active in group work. Insure efforts coincide: shared vision and expectations of the end result. Group cohesiveness: group identify ties group together, established sense of group work and pride in work completed. All presenters must speak: 20-30mins long with a q&a component, interesting and visually stimulating. Catered to the educational level of the audience. Ideas: evaluation, quiz: will be assigned a topic, powerpoint optional, demonstration of verbal and nonverbal communication skills, presentation class/date/time will be assigned, classroom preparation time will be provided.
