Discuss individual steps to address current environmental health problems. Environmental health is the collective interactions of humans with the environment and the short-term and long-term health consequences of those interactions. In canada, a huge, complex, public health system is constantly at work behind the scenes attending to the details of critical health concerns. Over the last few decades, the focus of environmental health has expanded and become more complex: population growth and control. The world"s population is increasing at a rate of about 76 million per year. United nations projects that world population will reach. Food, land & water, energy, standard of living. Why: high fertility rates, lack of family planning lower death rates. Remove the pressures for having a large family. Family planning resources: air quality and smog. The air quality health index (aqhi) indicates whether air pollution levels pose a health concern.
