Islets in ocean of acinar cells, are the endo cells. F x. pancr as exocrine and endocrine organ, by cell secr. Tons of rer and golgi structures for intense secretions. 1/2 litre of pancr fluid is secreted every day by acinar/ductal cells. Centroacinar cells: diff morphology, found between acinar and ductal cells. Buffers gastric acid by making electrolytes, mucins, hco3- Rich capillary structure, high vascularization for hormone secr. Get blood from 2 artery branches splitting from celiac trunk. Venous: same, but the splenic, inferior/superior mesenteric veins join to form hepatic portal vein also.
