Postnatally, cilia defect can cause ciliopathies: cilia used for mucus movement in resp, retina, kidney, reproductive system, cerebrospinal fluid movement in ventricles etc. So, abnormal cilia can affect these things too, which may have adverse fx, ex. Research goal: want to repair things prenatally before all these challenges o.
