Most hominins specimens in sa we"re found near joburg and pretoria, south africa. Majority of these are cave sites, some shallow, like the one we saw in the film in class. Australopithecines (genus) are believed to be on our direct ancestral line. Fossils remain mainly found in east and southern africa; there is currently no evidence they migrated into eurasia. This genus includes 5 species (runs from 4. 2 to 1. 98 mya) *important to remember dates and locations for final exam and lab quiz. Australopithecus anamensis discovered in great rift valley in northern. We have a few specimens from this specie.
