Place of elite and royal mortuary complexes and worker"s village. Amun-re part of theban triad with mut and khonsu. Amun central to new cult of divine kings. Architecture and ritual about rejuvenation and production of divine kingship. King is offspring of immaculate conception between mother and amun-re who takes form of living husband passes glyph of life. Emphasis on massive temple construction to impress visitors and gods in execution, size and elaboration. Power of these structure is in architecture and procession that animate them. Karnak sprawling complex of religious buildings in three walled precincts.
