I bet some of you have parents, or uncles or godparents or people that you"ve known for awhile that are lawyers, or judges or work in government, or hold executive positions in corporations this is mcgill after all . They would not be inclined to be studied people in the wishy washy eld of anthropology. They might not want to dedicate the time which could be used for more important matters. Figures that hold such powerful positions would not want to be scrutinized and judged through an anthropological lens. White gures act as guides for western audiences through african landscape. The prominence of white gures in nature docs is a decision that producers have made in order to make the information as accessible to a western audience as possible. There is a community of white citizens that stayed in kenya after colonial rule and they have done a good job of maintaining positions of leadership within the conservation sector.
