The first ones who knew a little about what the heart did because when in battle they would see injuries of the heart and they would see it beat. The heart made blood and pumped it through the arteries to deliver vital spirit . Had the right idea but they didn"t go any further than that. Painters would paint realistic pictures and they had to get everything right. He drew humans which had all the arteries painted. The pictures where draw so well that a surgeon was able to develop a technique with his drawings.
