At a later time, towards the end of antiquity, even christians would follow this tradition of building temples and churches on the locations of former sanctuaries, forming temples in christian churches. This being thought of the classical form of a greek temple (7th century bc); we can find many examples throughout the places that the greek colonized such as southern. Italy, sicily, turkey and later on even further away during hellenistic period when the successors of alexander the great conquered many more places. Classical form comprises a platform with 3 steps; the whole shape is a rectangle surrounded by a colon with the sloping tiled roof.
