Athenian comedy usually has a political back, reflecting politics of the time. We even have athenian historical figures showing up in comedies. Takes place at the city dionysia and the lenaia (dionysia is bigger festival) >some people insist that like tragedy, there are 3 switching costumes/masks. >problem is some scenes have more than 3 speaking characters. Komoidia = song of komos where komos is a drunken song or party. >crane might be used more often (e. g. characters ride on a flying dung beetle) >a little cart on wheels that comes out of skene and usually has a dead guy on the cart.
