-In this section you will provide your personal educational technology learning statement. This
should be no shorter than 250 words and should discuss your educational beliefs, educational
strategies and/or any research or particular learning theories that shape your educational
philosophy and how you would implement the use of authentic technology in your teaching
practice (TPACK, SAMR and bloom’s taxonomy).
Things to consider:
-How do you choose or emphasize course content?
-How would you use technology to teach so that students master the knowledge, skills and new
perspectives indicated in your course aims and intended learning outcomes? - maker spaces,
gamication, etc
-How do you integrate competencies outlined in the QEP?
-Are there any specic research learning theories that are integrated into your teaching with
technology philosophy
-How have you, or would you use innovative technology practices in your teaching, and why?
Lecture 9:
How are graphic novels different and how can they be used an an educational medium
-This new medium actually demands a “new rhetoric”, a new theory.
How did teachers in this online blog present their uses of graphic novels in the classroom?
Media literacy is thinking critically about the media we are receiving
-How media portrays a message
-How to teach media literacy
-4 facets: media industry, media audience, media message (trying to persuade the audience),
media effect
Difcult knowledge
-There are also many graphic novels that deal with “difficult knowledge” (minority issues, racism,
homophobia).
