Nov 26 - there are a lot of rules after the fall - Adam has to think a lot more consciously about what he does - the fall has led to some kind of empowerment of the individual: now Paradise is within us - Adam and Eve have now learned to control themselves - maybe the fall is a good thing - Paradise is accessible also through relationships (particularly that between Adam and Eve) - contrast between main focus of 11/12 (history lesson, conventional patterns and shapes of history: everyone behaves badly, one just man stands up to defend things , then everyone's bad again) - not many options of nuances in this history - it happens so quickly and everyone looks so alike - at the end of the poem, we leave that and focus on something other than the grand scheme of things: Adam and Eve - we may be interested in and sympathetic towards them - with the fall, their relationship has changed - sectional differences are now important - Adam and Eve experience things differently - they know things in different ways - Eve doesn't care where she goes as long as it's with Adam - Eve gets the last word, and emphasizes her role in the redemption of mankind (her body will be the vessel for the redemption of mankind) - this is moving to us to understand in terms of what Adam and Eve are fated to do - they're leaving paradise, but th
