Pas de Deux with Rachel - wrote an entire manuscript of pas de deux: many different subjects - a pair of poems that talk to each other (dialectic, collage) - appealing = the plural voice - Whitmanesque: do I contradict myself? yes. I do it on purpose - If we write pas de deux and send them to her, she'd be delighted - she has written and published in all genres, and is currently working on a novel - she resists being pushed into one genre - she chooses by subject matter and decides what form suits the topic - poetry is appealing because you can walk around with the whole body of it in your head. with a novel, it's a massive canvas that you paint
