It"s that they"re beating themselves; overall story of the play. Joan of arc and talbot as being two main combatants. Lords who are ineffective due to bickering, lack of knightly masculinity. But these two warriors go at it. They fight each other and it"s a tie. Hypermasculine, take charge, wilting effect on women. His very name causes the french to flee. Makes up for it with good old english scrappiness.
