Effects of forest fragmentation on carbon storage and biodiversity: Montreal"s green space is worth ~ billion in goods and services per year. Apply knowledge of connections in landscapes to manage ecological corridors for maintenance of biodiversity and ecosystem services. More carbon in forests means less co2 in the atmosphere. Unmanaged forests hold more carbon with higher functional diversity. Managed forests hold more carbon with lower functional diversity. Size was not significant in carbon storage per unit area. Connected sites have a stronger relationship between diversity and carbon.
