But hitler"s antisemitism is not unique/his ideas and rhetoric are not new. Gains admirers in europe/greater west--especially for econ progress. Drive to ghettoize jews, endorsed by cath church. Enforced discrimination was thought to b a good strategy to reduce. Awakening lives: jewish youth in interwar poland violence. Jewish children had to contribute economically, in many ways deprived of a childhood. At same time, availability of (secular) education grew--blurring of jewish/polish identity. Some youth movements actually blended zionism with polish nationalism.
