Once everything (relevant) has a theta-role and case, there still can be further movement. ) We know that which magazine must get a theta-role from bought, so want it to start in the object position. It is not theta-role, case, or epp driven. There are some movements in english that are not really driven by anything that we have seen so far. Basically the movement is driven by the fact that this is a question. This is nothing really different from the what-question above. The only difference is that when is an adjunct of the vp. English is svo, so if you have a subject-wh-question you actually don"t need to move anything in order to get the right order. But it still moves to the specifier of tp before, like it would if it were a regular (declarative) sentence. Material in t still moves to c. but there"s no do-support.
