Since the beginning of the year, we have discussed how to make decisions based on research and evidence. Today, we will look at where you get this evidence. For approval by governing agencies question must be asked about the drug: Evidence must be provided to federal agencies on the benefits and side effects of the drug. Life-saving drugs that are more helpful than harmful are approved. The main causes of death have changed greatly over time. Increasing life expectancies due to surviving previously fatal diseases. There are now treatment options ex: antibiotics, immunizations against the deadliest diseases of the last century. As we live longer, the chance of dying from cancer increases. Chances of getting cancer increases with age. This applies to heart disease incidences as well. There are currently more obesity related diseases such as diabetes. Our focuses on drug development focus on our new top causes of death: Cancer, heart disease, alzheimer"s disease and diabetes.
