50 views8 pages

Document Summary

Muscles cells are electrical cells just like nervous cells. Those are the muscles that enable you to voluntarily move your body around. It is muscle too because the hearth is constantly contracting. It has a lot in common with the skeletal muscle. Involved in contraction and relaxation of the pupils in the eye for example. Has somethings in common with skeletal, but some other fundamental things of it. Muscle is attached at each end to tendons, which in turn attach to bone on both sides of a joint. Contraction of skeletal muscle pulls on the tendons resulting in flexion of the joints. All the complexity of the movement you do comes down to the contraction and relaxation of skeletal movements. Those cells are often referred to muscle fibers. The term muscle fibers is confusing, because muscle fibers are made of fibers, so we have to keep a good track of what we"re talking about.
