Today is abt o2, co2 transport in blood. Pulmonary circulation is the low blood pressure compare to systemic circulation. Same blood flow coming out of heart, to keep the pressure low is by decreasing the resistant. Distribution of blood flow in the top and the bottom of the lung due to gravity. More blood at the bottom than the top due to gravity. ( if turn the people upside down, the blood flow will be opposite) Ventilation at the bottom vs on the top. This is due to the weight of the lungs (imagine the strings. ) The lung weight pulled the top alveoli more opened than the bottom. When breath in, alveoli all open up in the same volume( the elastic structure. ) The top one, since it already larger, the fresh air will preferly go to the (cid:271)otto(cid:373).
