Liver choleretics increase the bile release from the liver. Cholagogues will increase the contract of the gall bladder and open the sphincter. (allow concentrated bile release) 2 different type of pancreas secretion: 1) low volume + high enzyme + low ph 2 )high volume. + low enzyme + high ph- alkaline secretion. Largest effect is to release the concentrated bile and the enzyme rich secretion. These two component will be necessary to break down the meal (bile salt fat, enzyme -break down) At the intestinal level, will have the release of different hormone and feedback to the motility of the stomach. Strong effect on releasing the concentrated bile, and also release the enzyme rich pancreatic secretion. Cck will serve to help to break down the component of the meal.
