Response conducive to democratic regimes and blah: supporters of old regime become organized through political parties, which have professional bureaucracy and are not solely existing during elections. Denmark: purpose of informal party is to maintain old regime values whilst participating in the democratic political process, willing to limit the amount of political support they give to old regime values. In contemporary democratic politics from late 19th century onwards, bc numbers count. In order to maximize numbers, a conservative party is going to have to mobilize support outside its core constituency. Core constituency is old regime elements landed elite, military class, etc.
