Why should we consider cooperating with other Arctic
states when we are not really all that close to them in
many ways?
Our biggest neighbour is Russia with largest proportion
of land

We’ve developed our relationship with US and Greenland
strongly during the Cold War, where East and West
(Soviet and NATO) in Norway.
We also share “nordicity” with the others, Norway,
Iceland, Sweden and Finland.
All of these countries share same internationalist foreign
policy, and goal of world stability and prosperity (all
except Russia).
Russia is the most significant power in the Arctic based
on population, land mass, and research put into Northern
matters. Right now, it does not pose a threat to the other
North states.
This was not the case in the Cold was though. During the
